You can influence the default behaviour of various transactions and parameters with the customising switches for the maintenance of Session Manager and Profile Generator as well as the user and permission management. The SSM_CID table gives you an overview of all customising switches supplied by SAP, specifying the relevant tables SSM_CUST, SSM_COL, PRGN_CUST and USR_CUST. The short description of the customising switch refers to the relevant and current SAP references. The actual settings can be found in the SSM_CUST, PRGN_CUST and USR_CUST tables.

The website www.sap-corner.de offers a lot of useful information about SAP authorizations.

So much information... how can you keep it so that you can find it again when you need it? Scribble Papers is a "note box" that makes this very easy.

First, the Web application developers must implement appropriate permission checks and make PFCG available for use in role maintenance in the transaction. This includes the maintenance of proposed values in the transaction SU22. The SAP Note 1413012 (new reusable startup authorisation check) provides all the necessary details.
Testing Permission
Since a role concept is usually subject to periodic changes and updates, e.g. because new functions or modules are introduced or new organisational values are added, role names should be designed in such a way that they can be expanded. Therefore, in the next step, define the useful criteria you need in your role name.

Now the structure must be filled "with life". To do this, you must first create meaningful subfolders in the customer's own structure. As already mentioned, these are mostly based on the SAP modules. Make sure that you also set your customising for additional add-ons, so that later the work of support organisations is easier. Call the transaction SOBJ. There, you create customising objects that will later be reused in your IMG structure. It is useful to name the object exactly as the corresponding table. This simplifies the later maintenance in the IMG structure. Here you also decide whether and how the tables can possibly be maintained in the productive system. To do this, select the appropriate entries in the Category and Transport fields and check the Current setting option. Repeat this for all custom customising tables that are still needed.

The possibility of assigning authorizations during the go-live can be additionally secured by using "Shortcut for SAP systems".

The following coding allows you to identify the selected offset document entries that you can find in the POSTAB table (with the RFOPS structure) in the SAPMF05A programme.

In addition, more information is available within the ABAP editor at each location.
