Authorization concepts - advantages and architecture
Manual authorizations
An overview of the actual relevant information for your system landscape can be obtained from the application System recommendations in the Change Management section of the SAP Solution Manager (transaction SOLMAN_WORKCENTER or SM_WORKCENTER). This application will provide you with a recommendation for the SAP and non-SAP hints to be implemented for the evaluated systems.

The S_RFCACL authorization object is removed from the SAP_ALL profile by inserting SAP Note 1416085. This notice is included in all newer support packages for the base component; This affects all systems down to base release 4.6C. The reason for this change is that the S_RFCACL authorization object, and especially the expression "total permission" (*), is classified as particularly critical for its fields RFC_SYSID, RFC_CLIENT and RFC_USER. These fields define from which systems and clients or for which user IDs applications should be allowed on the target system. Thus, the overall authorisation for these fields allows the login from any system and client or for any user and thus creates significant security risks.

User trace - Transaction: STUSERTRACE - With the transaction STUSERTRACE you call the user trace. Basically, this is the authorization trace (transaction STUSOBTRACE), which filters for individual users. So you can call exactly the authorization trace and set the filter on a user. As with the authorization trace, the profile parameter "auth/authorization_trace" must be set accordingly in the parameter administration (transaction RZ10).

Authorizations can also be assigned via "Shortcut for SAP systems".

The German Federal Office for Information Security has compiled detailed information on defining critical authorizations.
