SAP S/4HANA: Analysis and simple adjustment of your authorizations
This solution is only available with a support package starting with SAP NetWeaver AS ABAP 7.31 and requires a kernel patch. For details on the relevant support packages, see SAP Note 1750161. In addition, the SAP Cryptographic Library must be installed; but this is ensured by the required kernel patch. Only if you have manually made a different configuration, you must check this requirement.

You can also find some useful tips from practice on the subject of SAP authorizations on the page www.sap-corner.de.

The freeware Scribble Papers is a "note box" in which all kinds of data can be stored. It takes in typed texts as well as graphics and entire documents. The data is then organised in folders and pages.

If a user is assigned SAP_ALL, he has all permissions in an ABAP system. Therefore, particular care should be taken in the dedicated award of this entitlement. SAP_ALL can be generated automatically when you transport authorization objects. The SAP_ALL_GENERATION parameter must be maintained in the PRGN_CUST table.
What are SAP authorizations?
In the transaction SU01, enter a non-existent user ID and click the Create button (F8). The BAdI BADI_IDENTITY_SU01_CREATE is called with the new user ID. Implementation in the BAdI is running. For example, here you can read additional attributes to the new user from an external data source. The data collected within the BAdIs is written into the fields of the transaction SU01. This will show you the new user master set with the pre-filled fields. You can edit the user master record, such as assign roles, or change the pre-populated fields.

Another important authorization object for background processing is the object S_BTCH_NAM, which allows a user to run the steps of a job under another user (see SM36 -> Edit step). Here, a name other than the user's own can be entered in the user field of a step. The prerequisite is that the job scheduler has an authorization for the object S_BTCH_NAM, which contains the name of the step user, and that the step user exists in the same client as the job scheduler itself. From 4.6C: The step user must be of type Dialog, Service, System or Communication.

During go-live, the assignment of necessary authorizations is particularly time-critical. The "Shortcut for SAP systems" application provides functions for this purpose, so that the go-live does not get bogged down because of missing authorizations.

In role maintenance (transaction PFCG), not only the role menu of a single role is maintained, but also the authorization objects and authorization field values can be maintained in the Authorizations tab.

This simplifies the later maintenance in the IMG structure.
