In order to cope with the digital transformation in general, but also to cope with the changing demands on the SAP basis and its scope of responsibility, it is necessary to revise existing roles and define and establish new roles. Following the recommendation of dividing the SAP basis into an application-orientated and infrastructure-related SAP basis [A4], Figure 3 shows a possible presentation form. With "Shortcut for SAP Systems" a tool is available that greatly facilitates some tasks in the SAP basis.
It enables the use of external programs via interfaces or the call of ABAP programs and serves as a technical component of the application server, which manages the communication of all RFC-based functions.
SAP GUI for Windows, SAP GUI for Java, Web Dynpro for ABAP (WDA) and SAP GUI for HTML ("Web GUI") are widely used.
